A Butterfly Light

This pattern was designed in memory of baby Michelle.

Palette:
Delta Ceramcoat:
Bonnie Blue
Chambray Blue
White
Dark Forest Green
Cinnamon
Dunes Beige

DecoArt Americana

Buttermilk
Raspberry
Crimson Tide
Jade Green
Marigold

Seal and sand box, then basecoat with 2 coats of Bonnie Blue. Let dry. Then with clean water , wet the box and sponge on Chambray Blue then responge with White . The colors will run together to give a muted effect. Let dry. The sides of the box are done the same way .

Transfer Pattern

Leaves- Base the leaves in Jade Green .Highlight using Buttermilk and then shade using Dark Forest Green. Stems and leave lines are Dark Forest green

Roses- Base roses in raspberry . Highlight using White and shade using Crimson Tide. White dots .

Butterflies- Base butterflies in 1 coat Buttermilk then rebase using Marigold. Shade using Jade . Using a small liner brush with thinned paint, paint in the wing veins lines with Jade . Highlight using White. Wing dots are done using Cinnamon.

Body- Using a small round brush load it with Cinnamon and then touch one corner with Dunes Beige. Pull a comma stroke starting at the head area and pulling down to the tail . Head is a dot of Cinnamon and the antennae are a line of Cinnamon.

Inside of box- (see photo, right) base inside of box in Buttermilk. The Butterfly on the inside cover is done the same as the ones on the top and the poem in done using a permanent ink pen.
