*Basecoat surface your favorite light blue for sky. Draw in the horizon line.

Clouds: Wash in clouds with TW, side to side motion. Paint should be thinner for this. Smaller clouds are near to the horizon. Give an extra wash on top after for more prominent whites.

Background grass: Wash in OI, WI, RS, and BS. Use individually, or mixed together. Loose easy wash, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter.

Grass: Use your rake brush with the same colors as the background, pulling tufts. Don't try to fill at this point, you are just doing a base for now. Use varying colors and values.

Background Trees: Various mixes of OI or WI, mixed in with sky color. You want a very subtle color, keeping these trees back. I used an old liner brush and lots of water to just tap in these trees.

Trees: Using that same frayed liner, I tapped in darker versions of the background trees with WI, OI, RU, or mixes. I then tapped in a little RS (watery) to give color changes.

Trace on pattern.

Dress: Basecoat WB. Shading on dress is DB, and then a little RU for added depth and
contrast. Highlights are AB.

Skin: Basecoat DP+TB (keep it on the lighter side.) Shading on skin is TB, and RU next to sleeves. Highlights are DP.

Hair: Basecoat with BU. Do not do a "coloring book" basecoat. You use your good liner, and basecoat in strokes, following the strokes of the lines. Mix BU with RS. Again, stroke in, "feathering" the lighter strokes over the darker. Always follow the contours. Lighter strokes using a mix of RS with less BU, and then RS alone. Play with these colors, darker or lighter where needed, and add an extra highlight with HG.

Sheep: Stipple in TT, except for the face. That's just based TT. Stipple in TW for highlights, and TT+RU for shading. Use vaying tones here to deepen. Keep TW nearer to the top of the sheep.
Use your frayed liner to dab in extra TT or TW where needed.

Eyes of sheep and girl are RU.
Eyebrows of girl are RS+RU.
Lips are any pink you like. I use Accent Barn Red and TT.
Shading on sheeps face is TB.
Stripes on dress are TW.
Flowers are loose and easy, any nice yellow, and TW.

Use your good liner to add more grass, same varying original colors. Use your darker grass where the girls and lambs shadows are. Make a wash of WI, and add shadows. You can put as much grass or as little as you like. Whatever looks good to you. Try different flowers, or add a bush.
