Apply to outer edges of lid. Dry. If using Papier` Mache`, it is not necessary to seal the surface first.

BORDER AND BAND:

Sponge Brush: Different colors may be used: Spice Tan, Gypsy Rose or Dusty Plum. Angle the tip of the sponge brush on the bottom of box about ¼" up and slide across.

DESIGN:

Apply Pattern (you may have to resize to fit your box as printers vary in the way they print web images.)

Using the Scumbler, scrub on the Black Green background area. Keep edges open and airy. With this same dirty brush, pick up a bit of Silver Pine, and add a few highlights. Dry.

Paint all elements in the order given. It is not necessary to trace a pattern here. Just follow the line drawing for your guide. They do not have to be in the exact place, as long as you keep the colors separate. Do all of each element before going on to the next one.

YELLOW: Scumbler: (funnel shapes): Dab on a bit of Spice Tan for all, then with the dirty brush, add a touch of Straw to the side of brush…pat once on palette to blend then apply highlight pats on one side of each flower.

PURPLE: Same shapes as YELLOW: Napa, then Dusty Plum highlight.

ROSEBUDS: #2 filbert: Gypsy Rose. Do all, then blend this dirty brush on the palette to get a good sharp side edge, then sideload into a touch of Maroon and blend on palette. Shade one side of each bud, plus a touch in the top.

Clean brush, then sideload into Gypsy Rose, blend, then sideload into White, blend, and apply highlight on bottom side of top, creating a "smile".

LEAVES: #2 filbert: Black Green + Dark Forest, brush mixed and blended. Place one stroke leaves on randomly. When placing them on the dark background, add a touch of Silver Pine to the other colors.

SCROLLS: Liner: Inky thin Black Green + Dark Forest, well blended in brush. Add White dot flowers with stylus or wood tip of small brush. Dry.

Apply 3-4 coats of varnish. Dry. They may be wet sanded after the third coat, then add another coat of varnish. Use the permanent black ink pen for lettering. It is not necessary to varnish again after the lettering is on.

LETTERING using a black perma pen, above the bottom border: (Optional) "The littlest angel came my way~through tears, joy and love~ and each and every day ~ watches over me from above"

If doing many boxes at one time, do them all in the same steps. Basecoat all, then dark foliage background on all, then yellow on all, etc..
